The Bike Shed MCC – London
The Bike Shed MCC – London

Have you ever been in the company of so many beautiful machines and people, that you stand and wonder whether it is a dream? No? Well you clearly haven’t been to one of the Bike Shed MC events… I’m not even going to pretend that I’m not a huge, bobble-hat-wearing, fan of the majority of Bike Builders at the event – It seemed so surreal that the day before, these bikes and personalities only existed through a photo on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, only then to be stood in right in front of them – able to take in every detail. It was great to meet a whole lot of […]

A personal project of ours (read: labour of love.) This BSA Bantam hadn’t started since the late 70’s, and now After some blood, sweat and gears – we have finally got her running. We won’t be doing much in the way of polishing it, in true L&E style we will be keeping the patina (we love the seat!) and focusing on making it tick over how it should and also fixing the brakes, after Test Flight 1.0 saw the brake rod snap – sending me into a wall.. as they say, it’s all sh*ts and giggles until someone giggles and sh*ts! We will keep the Instagram posted with the progress […]

But, this has to be one of the motorcycle events of the year that captures the spirit of those early pioneering motorcyclists that headed out on the open road (or farm track) way back in the early years of the last century. “In 2010 a small band of riders proved that antique motorcycles could indeed be put to the ultimate test… A test that would pit rider and machine […]

There are few places on earth that are so steeped in speed history – sure there’s the famous race tracks such as Monza, Silverstone, Indianapolis; road race venues including the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, TT and Le Mans but Bonneville is the mecca for speed merchants and those that have succumbed to ‘Salt Fever’. There have been many locations that have hosted successful Land Speed Record attempts – Pendine Sands in Wales, Daytona Beach, Florida and Southport Sands in England but Bonneville has become a location that will forever be associated with speed – each year Bonneville hosts events that attracts a special kind of person; a person who is […]

OK… let’s talk ‘bucket list entries’. There are a few on the list and this is near the top – The Race of Gentlemen. Cool bikes, cool hot rods and cool people having a great time living life with their passion – a passion fuelled by a Life & Engines. Run by the Oiler Car Club and set on the deserted beach at Wildwood, New Jersey, on the East coast of the USA it is a step back in time but this beach racing thing is far from a new idea. Go back to the early and mid stage of the last century racing on a beach was the thing […]
