This weekend Life & Engines will be at Kickback Motorcycle Show at the Stoneleigh Park Exhibition Centre – not only will our award winning Triumph Triple Cafe Racer (Project No.4) and our “Old 61″ Harley Davidson Bobber (Project No.1) be on display, but we will also have a stand at the event where we will be selling some of the L&E clothing and accessories. We have spent the good part of two weeks getting everything together and hand building / hand painting the stand ourselves and couldn’t be prouder of what we have accomplished. Things are happening. The Bike Shed MCC – London
The Bike Shed MCC – London

Have you ever been in the company of so many beautiful machines and people, that you stand and wonder whether it is a dream? No? Well you clearly haven’t been to one of the Bike Shed MC events… I’m not even going to pretend that I’m not a huge, bobble-hat-wearing, fan of the majority of Bike Builders at the event – It seemed so surreal that the day before, these bikes and personalities only existed through a photo on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, only then to be stood in right in front of them – able to take in every detail. Gooding & Co auction at Amelia Island 2015 There are some events that stand alone… to name just a few – Goodwood Revival, Pebble Beach, Le Mans Classic, Mille Miglia, Tour Auto, Monaco Historique and Amelia Island as ‘must do’ events on the calendar. Associated with many such events there are auctions for the finest motor cars and this year’s Amelia Island was no exception with some remarkable automobiles and significant racing cars under the hammer. One such example is this fully restored 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR, formerly the property of Héctor Rebaque (the ex-Formula One driver). It’s a three-time 24 Hours of Daytona and two-time 12 Hours of […]

The Race of the Century

Yep, this is another one for the L&E bucket list… except this one might just be a little out of reach due to a) we haven’t got a pre 1916 motorcycle and b) timing as it clashes with the Goodwood Revival. But, this has to be one of the motorcycle events of the year that captures the spirit of those early pioneering motorcyclists that headed out on the open road (or farm track) way back in the early years of the last century. “In 2010 a small band of riders proved that antique motorcycles could indeed be put to the ultimate test… A test that would pit rider and machine […]

Bonneville – Home of the Speed Hunters
Bonneville – Home of the Speed Hunters

There are few places on earth that are so steeped in speed history – sure there’s the famous race tracks such as Monza, Silverstone, Indianapolis; road race venues including the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, TT and Le Mans but Bonneville is the mecca for speed merchants and those that have succumbed to ‘Salt Fever’. There have been many locations that have hosted successful Land Speed Record attempts – Pendine Sands in Wales, Daytona Beach, Florida and Southport Sands in England but Bonneville has become a location that will forever be associated with speed – each year Bonneville hosts events that attracts a special kind of person; a person who is […]
